The Leaders Award for STEM provides an invaluable opportunity for young people, such as yourself, to speak directly to professionals from STEM backgrounds to increase your careers awareness in the STEM subjects! You can meet and interview the STEM professionals of today, bringing you an opportunity to increase your awareness of the breadth of opportunities open to you within the STEM subjects. We aim to open your aspirations and stimulate your interests!
Become a 'Leader for STEM' or a ' STEM Reporter'
Leaders for STEM and STEM Reporters complete the award in the same basic way - by writing a letter of application followed by meeting and interviewing professionals with STEM backgrounds. However, here’s how they differ:
- Leaders for STEM
This is a perfect route for everyone who is involved in STEM clubs and activities in or out of school. STEM Leaders become representatives for their school and work to show others how exciting STEM opportunities are.
- STEM Reporters
STEM Reporters have the fantastic job of conducting as many interviews as possible centred about the careers/subjects that they are interested in. Perhaps the interviews could include reportage of a STEM event where many people have been interviewed; they could film the interview(s) or write a piece as though it were a newspaper article.
